My name is Ashtyn (they/them), I am a Registered Psychotherapist & Art Therapist. I believe everyone has the ability to heal and grow. My practice is supported by several years of experience working with individuals recovering from the impacts of trauma, and folks belonging to the LGBTQ community.
My work is grounded in a trauma informed, anti-oppressive, intersectional, and holistic approach. I work with adults and youth (11+), incorporating therapeutic techniques that support the body and mind, including: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (body-based therapy), IFS/parts work, Art Therapy, & Mindfulness. You may choose which modalities you are interested in integrating in our work together.
My areas of specialization are helping individuals manage and process the impacts of trauma (internally body/mind and relationally), PSTD/CPTSD, supporting individuals belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and those who are neurodivergent. I also work with adults and youth (11+) experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain/illness, grief & loss, addiction, relationship challenges, & life transitions.
Our work together will be collaborative. I will ask for feedback to make sure we are meeting your needs and making necessary adjustments along the way. There will be a balance between developing coping skills to utilize in your daily life, such as self-regulation, boundary setting, self-compassion, etc., as well as space for self-exploration to help better understand and organize your past and current life experiences, and trying out different avenues for self expression besides formal talk therapy (drawing, painting, writing, body work, visualization, play).
